Overwhelmed & Stressed? How I Cope With It All.

Feeling stressed and overwhelmed is a common experience for many people. Whether it's due to work, personal relationships, or other life events, it's important to take steps to manage these feelings before they become overwhelming.

I stress myself out all the time by worrying about the same things over and over. Stress shows up in my life by worrying about how I'm going to pay rent, and the light bill, while asking myself if I have enough money to put food on the table. I should know better by now! For years without fail, God has always covered me and my kids with his grace and mercy. I'm now learning how to reframe these negative thoughts by telling myself to STOP and Take A Breath. I've stopped calling myself a single parent because, in reality, God Is My Co-Parent! God always provides, and always opens doors for me to do what I need to do for my household. Being grateful and thankful has also been a great tool for me to relieve the stress in my life. How can you be stressed when your heart is grateful? Stress is not a thing. It's created by our own perception.

There are several effective strategies for managing stress, one simple yet powerful technique is journaling. Writing relieves my stress and anxieties; I feel so much better after journaling! This tool is effective in reframing your thoughts because you can find yourself spiraling imagining the worst-case scenario ever. Writing helps with gaining knowledge of your emotions, identifying patterns in your behavior, and developing a deeper understanding of yourself.

Remember, it's normal to feel stressed and overwhelmed from time to time. But by taking steps to manage your stress, you can improve your life and feel more in control.
